Happy 9th Birthday Taylor

Today was a big day. Taylor turned 9. So in true birthday fashion, the day has been his choice. He started off the day be choosing his second favorite breakfast. (He really wanted crepes but I didn't have any ricotta on hand).
  • Swedish Pancakes with homemade strawberry syrup and sausage

Kyle then surprised him at school for lunch. Taylor always enjoys when Dad comes to school. I think he really just likes having him on the playground. I often wonder who really likes it more, Taylor or Kyle.

He also got to bring a special treat to school. This year he went for the gusto and chose a "cookie cake". I am sure the teachers enjoy the change. Most kids (including us for the past two years) choose Krispy Kremes because they are allowed by the allergy policy. Fortunately for us, so were the cookie cakes. They were quite a hit for the kids. Nothing like a little sugar high to finish the last 2 hours of school, huh?

Finally, his day ended with a little party at a place called Tokens. They had a blast playing games, glow in the dark miniature golf (really great props!), and ended the evening with a couple of games of laser tag. Even Mom and Dad got in on the action. This really was a fun place to go, especially on a weeknight when it was slow and they didn't have to wait in line for everything.

It's hard to believe that he is 9. Time goes by too quickly. I don't even want to think about the fact that his teen years are right around the corner! Happy Birthday TBug...Mom and Dad love you!

  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAYLOR! Sounds like he had a great day. That is cool that Kyle went to lunch with him. Daxon had a great time at the party. Thanks for taking him!
P.S. If you develop the pictures I would love to buy some doubles.

  2. I'm glad to see you had so much fun. We would have loved to join you. When did he get so big? Time goes even quicker when families aren't together. I know....I know...a move isn't possible at this point. It may be a few years, but we will be leaving before the boys start junior high.
