Growing like a weed

My little guy is growing so fast.  In a week he will be 2 months old...where has the time gone?  I know it doesn't seem like a lot to some of you, but you will think the same thing when your oldest child is 10 too.  I have noticed little changes in Taylor that indicate that he is turning into a young man.  It really doesn't seem like it has been ten years and it saddens and scares me to think that his time in our home is half over.
So, what has been going on in the Coleman household?  Well, for starters Taylor lost two more baby teeth.
Of course, we would have been happier had it happened naturally, but some pitcher decided to try to pick him off at first base, first baseman missed the ball and Taylor took one for the team.  I can honestly say that the pictures aren't near as bad as it looks in real life.  He was pretty swollen the first day and then the bruise really started getting more predominant.
Day 1
Day 2

Day 3

Fortunately they were baby teeth, there was no bone damage and the bruise is finally (a week and a half later) starting to disappear.  We were so thankful that this is all that happened, it could have been so much worse.

McKay learned proper parade candy seeking skills for the 4th of July parade.  After a while she figured out that yelling for candy might be the best technique.  This year Grant decided to be in the parade with his scout pack.  Taylor was at an end of the year party for the club baseball team he plays on.  Luckily for us the parade was on the 3rd as was Taylor's party so everyone got to enjoy 4th of July festivities.  Even Hinckley was chilling out for the parade despite the temperature and humidity.  It was supposed to be 80 and it was about 90 (at 5:00 p.m nonetheless!)

McKay has also been learning correct batting stances.  I think we just  might have another ball player in the house.

The kids and I enjoyed a night at the Waukee Farmer's Market eating shave ice.  I came across this cute little stand called Lincoln and Lexi.  I couldn't pass up on these cute onesies for Hinckley.  Doesn't he look so handsome in his white shirt and tie?  He is all dressed up for Sunday!  I couldn't pass up on the brown one, too.  In fact, I think I will be making a trip back for another one or two...

Look Mom...I can hold my head up high.  Although Hinckley isn't too keen on his tummy time, he does great and is so strong.  However, he will let you know when he is done.

Here are a few more of our cute little guy...

He is starting to get his voice and loves to be sung too.  (Luckily for me he doesn't know yet that I can't hold a tune!)  He loves to be outdoors and when he has spent the evening outside he sleeps really good, usually 4-5 hours.  Too bad I don't get that long of sleeping stretch.  He is also starting to fill out and getting those cute little rolls on his legs and has a double chin.  I am anxious to see what he weighs when he has his two month visit next week.

Another busy week in our house.  Games Monday, Wednesday and Thursday for both of the boys, Primary meeting for me on Tuesday, Taylor has golf camp all week, (Grant had soccer camp last week and loved it!),  and so far we have NOT ONE THING on the calendar for Saturday...maybe Kyle will get some work done on Hinckley's room.  I wonder if he recalls the old saying that "If Momma ain't happy, ain't anyone happy".  Well, I would be ecstatic if he got that done.  After all, he PROMISED it would be done before Hinckley was born.  He has until month 3 and then I am going to hire someone.

Have a great week...it is supposed to be a warm one here!

  1. What a cute baby! I love those onesies too. A girl at church had one on her baby yesterday--it also had a little missionary tag on it. So adorable! Your boys have grown so much. I still remember having them in nursery! That means I'm getting OLD too!

  2. You'll have to check out the Lincoln and Lexi website. There's a very cute baby boy modeling similar onesies. ;). Thx for the catch up
