Better late...

Sorry for the late posting. I usually get around to it on Sunday evenings, but we enjoyed dinner at some friends. It is always so fun trying to get the kids down for bed after an evening with friends. They get so wound up!

We finally found a way to keep track of McKay. What do you guys think? I can't imagine that DSS would have a problem with this, do you?

The kids and I enjoyed a day at the zoo this week. Luckily we chose to go on the day that it was only 84 degrees. However, the heat index said it "felt" like 93. I think it felt like 100. This humidity is killing me. We have been here three years and I still am not used to it. Poor McKay and Grant get hot so fast that within the first hour they both had wet, sweaty hair and were beet red.

The boys finished their second set of swimming lessons for the summer. Taylor's favorite picture is the one of him jumping off the diving board. He was so excited to finally be able to do it. Normally he doesn't have difficulties with anything he tries, but he is afraid of heights so this was big for him!!!

Kyle's firm also had their annual Cub's outing. We were just planning to take the boys because we knew McKay would be a holy terror. Well, the babysitter was sick so we ended up taking her and guess what...she did great. She loved it. Of course, I don't think anyone should expect anything different coming from this baseball obsessed household. Seriously, there isn't a day that goes by that Taylor doesn't want to go practice at the field. The kid is only 8 and baseball is his life already.

The boys are done with all of their summer camps and school will be starting soon. Now we just need to survive (meaning no constant fighting and bickering between the boys) the next two weeks and it will have been a pretty good summer. We are leaving Saturday for a trip home and will be back the Sunday before school starts so it should be okay. I hope everyone enjoys the last few weeks of their summer vacations!

  1. Love the pictures....this makes it so easy to catch up and stay up with your family. I was thinking about you guys over there today as John left Sea-Tac for Indiana on business. He'll be flying over good ole South Dakota. He will only be there for a few days and then back. Hope you have a great time visiting home. Take care
